Pre-school Dance Class
Toddler & Pre-school

Our Toddler & Preschool dance program introduces young children to the basics of dance and the fun and joy it provides. These classes are an excellent way to enhance gross motor development, improve listening skills and nurture the creative spirit.

This creative ballet class is for toddlers ages 2-3 years old. In this class, the instructor and parent gradually help the toddler build comfort in taking dance class on their own. This class is designed for toddlers to explore basic elements in creative movement and ballet to popular children’s movement games. Props such as scarves, flowers, bean bags, and hula hoops are used to enhance the students learning experience.

This combo ballet and tap class is offered for students age 3-5 years. Students will continue to enjoy expressing themselves through the art of dance. At this level, students will learn basic ballet and tap steps and positions and the terminology through imaginative stories, dance exercises, and activities.

This combo ballet and tap class is offered for students age 4-5 years. Students will continue to enjoy expressing themselves through the art of dance. At this level, students will get an introduction to ballet barre and continued development for ballet positions and tap steps, as well as the terminology through imaginative stories, dance exercises, and activities.

Dance Classes Ballet Jazz Modern
Dance Ensemble

Students in the Dance Ensemble program are required to meet 2 days a week. Day 1, students work on dance styles such as ballet, jazz, and modern. Day 2, students work in teams to develop original works of choreography based on ballet, modern, and jazz technique. Students then showcase their choreography at the end of year dance recital.

This Program is designed for high school dance students who are interested in learning how to be a dance teacher in a studio environment, and the student will get an opportunity to earn money during summer dance sessions. Students enrolled in this dance assistant program will learn basic principles and tricks of teaching a group of children in a dance class. Students will get to practice these teaching techniques within class with their peers, and also get the opportunity to help the dance instructor as a dance assistant to help choreograph and teach dance recital pieces to one of the younger dance classes.

MUST BE ENROLLED IN SENIOR REPERTORY ENSEMBLE TO PARTICIPATE.

Recreational Dance

Our Recreational Dance program is designed to provide additional styles to our dance community that provide that fun factor. Of course, being educators, we also make sure they get a good dose of technique and appropriately develop in the creative process. Youth programs can be perfect for children and teens with heavy commitments in other activities, such as sports, but who would still like to participate in dance.

This fun class is designed to introduce students to ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Learning some basic movements, steps, and combinations will allow the students to experience each style of dance while improving their flexibility, sense of rhythm and overall coordination.

Students learn jazz, hip-hop, street jazz, and music video style choreography while dancing to popular hit songs of today.

Students learn tap-rhythm and timing. Class consists of warm-up, center, and across the floor training. Proper terminology and musicality is stressed. Students learn shuffles, flaps, time steps, buffalo, hops, drawbacks, cramp rolls, and basic turns. Students learn dance routines to famous Broadway tunes.

In this class FOR ADULTS ONLY get a light to moderate workout while learning ballet, jazz, tap and musical theater jazz techniques. Work on core strength and flexibility while also learning combinations and choreography. It’s a great way to work out without it feeling like you’re working out!

Children's Musical Theater Classes
Theater & Acting

Students in our Youth Theater Ensemble program receive training in acting, singing, dancing, and staging/choreography techniques. This balanced approach emphasizes development of the complete performer. Students get opportunities to collaborate and create their own scenes, rehearse with each other in class, and perform at our formal showcase in June. Classes meet once a week.

Students learn the building blocks of stage acting, Broadway jazz dance, and choreography through a variety of physical and vocal acting exercises and scenarios, as well as improv games.

Students engage in a variety of physical and vocal acting exercises, scenarios, and improv games. Through these instructional acting techniques, students participate in a wide range of creative activities including speech, dramatic movement, improvisation, scene starters. There is an expectation of additional work outside of class, including script reading and extensive memorization.
